Dear Parishioners,
It’s back-to-school time and one important school activity that must go on is fundraising. Under the best of circumstances, school operations’ fundraising is a fundamental need. This year, it is even more significant and so I introduce to you once again the IHM elementary school’s third annual car raffle.
As you remember, BINGO was the primary school operations’ fundraiser for many, many years. When that was no longer a reality, we tried an outdoor one-weekend Fall Festival prior to the emergence of the pandemic, Then, I had decided to give the Fall Festival a rest and focus solely on a car raffle for the 2020-2021 school year. This became very financially successful and so much easier.
I have had the great assistance of Julie Bowling, our parish office secretary, Barb Riggins, our parish office assistant, Jeff Andrea, Financial Services for the church and school, Danny and Laura Karam, Rochelle Casalandra, Tana Ruester, Melinda McIlroy, Kathy Friess, the school secretaries, and Thursday folders volunteers.
Our parish school fundraiser has been blessed with the very special financial support of Mike Iemma (parishioner) of Park Ford, Linda and Chuck Ingersoll (parishioners) of Ingersoll Landscaping, and Tracey and Marwan Touma (parishioners) of Smoothie King.
I am happy to report that the Car Raffle plan is in place and here are the details:
- Prize: 2021 Ford EcoSport or $15,000 (winner chooses)
- When: Drawing will be on Saturday, December 4th, 2021, either at the 4:30pm Mass or at a “party” after the Mass if the pandemic would allow such a gathering. Tickets on sale Tuesday, September 1st through Friday, December 3rd by 12 noon.
- How Much: Tickets are $20 each
- How: Turn in sold and completed ticket stubs to the parish office or in the collection basket
- Incentive: For every 5 tickets you sell per month, your name will be in a monthly drawing for $500 (Drawings at the 10:00am mass on Sundays, October 3rd, November 7th, and before the BIG drawing on December 4th. Each month starts fresh)
- Perk: A coupon on the back of every ticket for $2 off a smoothie at Smoothie King
The 2021 BRIGHT red Ford EcoSport, courtesy of Park Ford, will be on display on Portage Trail from September until the drawing. An unlimited number of tickets will be sold.
I am asking all parishioners to please consider help with this very important event and school fundraiser. We mailed 5 tickets to parishioners for your convenience and encouragement. Also, additional tickets will be available in the parish office during normal office hours. School families will receive tickets and more information in their Thursday folders.
