Good News at IHM School!

On Monday, The Akron Beacon Journal, in their GOOD NEWS section (https://goo.gl/ofKgTv), gave IHM students a rave review on what they are doing to promote kindness in the community.

1. Our students in the third grades raised money for THE ARC OF OHIO (The Arc of Ohio is a statewide membership association made up of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, their families, friends, interested citizens and professionals in the disability field) and the PEOPLE TOGETHER PROGRAM (The People Together Program© that helps to break down those barriers in an effort to foster understanding, acceptance, friendship and inclusion between people with and people without disabilities) with a penny war! They raised $614.00!

2. Our fifth graders installed a free library box on Lillis Drive and then proceeded to orchestrate a book drive and collected 1,289 books to fill the library! Children in the community were made aware of the little library box and our students have already needed to re-fill the box which means those in need have found “good reading materials” at IHM!

3. Our sixth graders to encourage the Cuyahoga Falls community to show more kindness went over to Portage Crossing and painted messages on the sidewalks that magically appear when it rains!

There is never a “dull day” at IHM School!

Many blessings,
Father Jim
