IHM School Tuition

Dear Parishioners,

Please take note of the two-page document in this bulletin (0217097Flyer_TuitionExplanation) as it describes how I annually set the tuition rate for our school parents and guardians for kindergarten through eighth grade at IHM Elementary School The 2019-2020 tuition rates for the first child will be $4,288.00. There IS a multi-child discount as well.

I, and in consultation with our finance council members, feel this kind of transparency is very important to the whole parish as 22% of your Sunday offerings for fiscal year ending June 2018 assist as subsidy per child in the school.

School parishioner families likewise have been grateful for The McIntyre Fund. This fund was established before Father McIntyre’s retirement (our founding pastor) to assist struggling school parishioner families in need. Parishioner school parents and guardians must make an application for determining any use of these monies. This past year, $27,000.00 was awarded to 47 students.

Just so you know, the McIntyre Fund continues to be financially supported by many of you through your continued use of that specific envelope in your collection packets. Also, many times at the death of one of our parishioners, families recommend supporting this fund rather than having flowers sent. I am grateful to you for this continued support.

There are other sources out there that assist struggling families to meet the tuition rate, such as Diocesan Tuition Assistance (DTA), State of Ohio Scholarship programs like the Genmedica Autism Scholarship and Jon Peterson Special Needs Scholarship, Diocesan Financial Assistance for teachers with children in our school, and Catholic Credit Unions.

Our elementary school this year 2018-2019 has 272 students in K-8. We have one classroom for kindergarten (25 students), one classroom for first grade (29 students), and one classroom for second grade (28 students). Kindergarten and first grade each have an aide. The remaining grades have two classrooms each (approximately 16 students per classroom).

Once again, I am grateful to be a Pastor with an elementary school and am very proud of our Principal, faculty, and staff.

Many blessings,
Father Jim
