From Fr. Jim – Status on Hybrid Electronic Pipe Organ

Dear Parishioners,

“Where are we with obtaining a new Hybrid Electronic Pipe Organ?”

As you may recall, IHM embarked on a successful campaign this past spring, 2021 to raise considerable dollars for both seminarians, priests, a seminary living quarters’ renovation and an IHM new hybrid electronic pipe organ to be placed in the choir loft.

Now that the Heart of a Shepherd campaign is almost over, I presented to Bishop Malesic for his approval, a “proposal” to purchase an organ from the T.S. Good Church Organ Company. On Friday, June 9, 2021, I received from the Diocesan Temporal Goods Committee the Bishop’s permission to do so.

His permission also included the mandate to send the same proposal to the Diocesan Legal Office for their review. Presently the proposal is being reviewed by this office. When they finish their review, both the bishop’s signature would be obtained as well as a signature from the T.S. Good Church Organ Company.

IHM is not allowed to commence work until a contract is drafted and approved by the Diocesan Legal Office and executed by both parties; Bishop Malesic and the T.S. Good Church Organ Company.

This is exciting for IHM parishioners, and YOU made this happen with your financial generosity. Thank you so very much.

I cannot at this time estimate any dates for this project to begin nor to be completed. Jeff Mills and I are under the impression that a project such as this would be a six month or so project.

All things in God’s time.

Many blessings,
Father Jim
