Mass Schedule Update from Fr. Jim – Emailed May 13, 2020

Dear FLOCK,
You are correct, these FLOCK NOTES are really important for staying together, gaining information most quickly, and I am thanking you for appreciating them.  The last flock note really helped me out and settled me down about the weekend Mass attendance.
Daily Masses will begin Monday, May 25th at 8:00 am though Friday, May 29th at 8:00 am.  Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will resume on Wednesday, May 27th after the 8:00 am Mass through 5 pm.
I have decided for weekend Masses that IHM will only have TWO WEEKEND MASSES until further notice. IHM will have the Sunday 10:00 am on May 31st which would be live-streamed and the Sunday 4:30 pm Mass on May 31st utilizing the Life Teen band.
This good decision is reasonable and it mimics what Ohio is doing opening businesses etc. in a phased approach.  Also, if I did keep a Sunday 8:00 am Mass getting the church sanitized and setting up the connectivity for the live-stream would compromise starting the next Mass on time at 10:00 am.  So we need to practice this sanitization and see how long it takes to then go back to our former regular mass schedule.
In addition, I know you are aware that Father Ralph cannot say Mass because of his chronic pain and difficulty walking which leaves me alone as Father McCann would not be able to assist at this time either.
You very greatly helped me when you said in reply to the last flock note to not bother with setting up the gym for parishioner overflow, so, thank you for that.  You astutely and respectfully said you are going to stay home on Pentecost weekend and watch the live-stream; that you are not coming out yet and for various good reasons.
My highest suggestion is those parishioners of age over 60 (we will not be checking drivers licenses!) and with compromised health situations, for now, to please stay home on the first weekend at least and continue to watch the live-stream.
You are good to me and patient with me and so understanding.  Thank you!
Many blessings,
Father Jim
