Pastor Letter – Music & Liturgy News – September 8, 2019

Dear Parishioners,

Everyone knows I enjoy singing at Mass. For me it becomes “full and active participation” as what is taught to all of us in the current liturgy documents and the General Instruction of the Roman Missal. I desire the same for all of you, with bad voices, as well as those with good voices! At least, one can READ the words as the singing takes place.

As a “help” to our community to join in the singing (or reading), Jeff Mills and I have orchestrated with Julie Bowling a SONG LIST for the music during the weekend Masses in the parish bulletin. We know that, sometimes the announcement of the hymn just might not meet the ears of all in the community. Therefore, the listing of each song in the bulletin can aid all in more “full and active participation”! LOOK BELOW!

Every week now, look into the parish bulletin (you will have to take one BEFORE Mass begins!!!) and under the section MUSIC AND LITURGY NEWS, you will find listed the Order of Worship and the song number with the appropriate songbook.

Make your worship more meaningful by singing and or reading the hymns selected for the weekend Masses.

Many blessings,
Father Jim
