Dear Parishioners,
A while back I wrote to you about our 2022 summer capital expenses. I am happy to say IHM is doing well completing many of these projects.
- Flat roofs on the convent, and Rectory, have been done. Approximately $22,000.
- The gym floor has been refinished and looks terrific. $4,400.
- Wi-Fi in the church has been expanded to include the back of the church, the sacristy, and the church hall and controls the cameras for livestream. Approximately $4,800.
- The Rectory conference room has been upgraded to have a whiteboard and AV equipment for audio visual presentations. The whiteboard was $90. And the TV was free using points!
- The two “specials rooms” in the school for The Marty Meadows Makerspace and the Art Room have both been re-located thus creating two more available classrooms. Moving and renovating cost was approximately $6,600.00. *Our school has two classrooms for every grade, K-8 which comes to 305 enrollments. (The average of seventeen students per classroom). Pre-K has twenty students and a waiting list.
- Rectory office renovations, paint and furniture were done. Approximately $3,500.
What remains to be done:
- Concrete sidewalks around the church needs repaired. September 2022.
- Lillis Drive “apron” into the school parking lot needs repaired. September 2022.
- Lillis Drive sidewalk needs repaired. There is crumbled concrete in all these areas. September 2022.
- The installation of better lighting in the choir loft is being scheduled for August 11, 2022.
- The voicing and tuning of the new hybrid pipe organ are not yet finished, but they are scheduled for this week.
PLEASE MAKE A NOTE: The new organ should be ready for our weekend Mass on August 27-28 and a scheduled blessing of the organ for Sunday, September 18, 2022, at the 10:00am Mass!
