Pastor Letter – Sunday 8:00 am Mass – Sunday, September 20, 2020

Dear Parishioners,

Sunday, October 4, 2020
8:00am Mass will be back at IHM!

I am so grateful to you for your many positive comments, constructive advice, and for your patient endurance through all the COVID-19 changes that affects you in our church building, school building, meeting rooms, and all throughout our city. We are just about completing six months of this!

We all recognize a different world!

One difference that IHM parishioners have experienced is the closing down of the Sunday 8:00am Mass. I am writing to you today that this is going to change on October 4th, 2020! IHM will once again have a Sunday 8:00am Mass.

It will be good to welcome the “early risers” around the table of the Lord for Sunday Mass.

I continue to recognize anyone’s health needs to NOT GATHER in a church setting, as there remains in place the dispensation which allows Catholics to remain at home to watch Mass and not incur a sin. Your health and others’ health remains my priority. Staying home is a parishioners choice at this time.

For the Mass we will have music and cantors, although no congregational singing as of yet.

Masks will be required. Social distancing will be expected. Dropping your collection envelope at the doors of the church when leaving Mass will be appropriate. Sanitizing after the Mass will be most important and perhaps some of you can volunteer to assist in this procedure.

Many blessings,
Father Jim
