Pastor Letter – Supporting the Parish – Emailed April 6, 2020

Dear Parishioners,

You are amazing! The amount of mailed in envelopes for your weekly offertory this past week is HUGE! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for considering us and remembering us with your offertory! The running or the church and school continue during this pandemic and so the expenses still need to be paid, especially salaries and health benefits. So mailing in your weekly collection is very important.

The Diocese of Cleveland has also issued a BIG help to all parishes especially if the need is great. They said that parishes can HOLD OFF for APRIL, 2020 in paying their monthly diocesan assessment bill (for IHM it is $10,000.00+) and the monthly diocesan insurance bill (for IHM it is $4,200.00+). These amounts won’t be forgiven, but, not paying them this month could be helpful when the cash flow is down in parishes.

For us, from the three weeks in March that we didn’t have Mass, we are DOWN almost $21,000.00 (almost $7,000.00 a week). While we have some financial reserves to help us maintain, you know as well as I do that we cannot deplete these funds, so then, it becomes necessary for me to ask and remind you for your weekly collection to be mailed in while the STAY AT HOME EXECUTIVE ORDER is in effect!

I am grateful to the almost 273 donors who have elected to use electronic giving through FAITH DIRECT our reputable and safe company for the past almost nine years! I encourage you who are reading this and NOT on FAITH DIRECT, to give it some more thought. An enrollment form can be found here or you can contact Faith Direct at https://membership.faithdirect.net/OH405 or (866) 507-8757.

Parents of school children do continue to pay tuition and that is helping a lot! As a reminder to you, all teachers and staff continue to work remotely. All students continue at home with studies, mostly with good results; a few stumbles here and there, but, a new way to learn has dawned upon the students and parents and there is great patient endurance by all.

Many Blessings,
Father Jim
