Pastor Letter – Update from Fr. Jim – Emailed May 6, 2020

Dear Parishioners,

Another week of changing weather, some days warmer than others, some days with rain, and even frost!!! That is northeast Ohio for you, but, also the same for this world pandemic; things changing all the time!

Here at IHM all of my spring and early summer weddings are now re-scheduled because of the changing situation. Brides and grooms have changed their plans and taken their weddings to either a late summer, early fall, and even a January winter! It is all about the reception halls or venues and the ever changing news surrounding large gatherings.

If any of you have ever planned a wedding you must absolutely know the craziness and expense involved!

You may remember that we needed to change RCIA and their full initiation into the Catholic Church, the First communion, and the Confirmation! The rescheduling of these dates is yet to be determined. There are so many variables to consider as we wait for the Governors decision to open large gatherings and the decisions of the Ohio Catholic Conference of Bishops as to how best we honor social distancing at a Mass if that will be the new norm!

I will keep you informed when these decisions are made.

I have been well and concerned about you all. I anxiously await the changing events that will bring about us gathering together to celebrate our faith and being nourished by the Body of Christ.

Many blessings,
Father Jim
