Pastor Letter – Update from Fr. Jim – Emailed November 19, 2020

Dear Parishioners,

Just want to keep you all informed.

As of today and through December 16th, 2020 I am taking seriously the advisory from Summit Health Department in terms of employees on our Rectory Staff working remotely. This message does not include the school or its employees as there will be more information about the school coming from the diocese at a later time today or tomorrow.

I have asked Julie Bowling to cancel all meetings as most of our meetings bring in more than 10 people which is the LIMIT for meeting size in this latest advisory.

PLEASE KNOW: Ministry for the Needy will still be in operation. The members have appropriate procedures in place and have done so since June, 2020 and can serve our needy safely! This is a well managed group ministry. I thank them for their efforts.

Our Parish Office will be maintained ONLY each day Monday through Friday from 8:00am – 11:30am and Saturday 9:00am -12:30pm with the help of Barb Riggins.
There will be daily Mass at 8:00am. There will be Wednesday adoration after the 8:00am Mass until 5:00pm. There will be three (3) weekend masses; Saturday 4:30pm / Sunday 10:00 am & 4:30pm. MASKS ARE REQUIRED FOR ALL ACTIVITIES IN THE CHURCH.

Highest suggestion will be that funerals can take place as always with careful sanitization and social distancing following Jeff Mills and liturgy guidelines. Same will be true with Baptisms. Again, MASKS REQUIRED.

Thank you to our MAINTENANCE CREW, Dennis, Jeremy, Jacob and Joel (our Saturday help) who will continue to keep IHM maintained as best as possible. They know that If either of them have a concern for coming into daily work, that I will understand that.

Our parish Rectory has done this before so let’s do it again with prayers and dedication.

WE HAVE AN AMAZING STAFF WHO MANAGE EVERYTHING SO WELL IN THESE UNCERTAIN TIMES, ADJUSTING TO LIFE WITH COVID-19. IHM is truly blessed.

I will keep you informed about our school when that advisory comes in.

Many blessings,
Father Jim

PS. I should be home from vacation on Monday, November 23rd in the early evening ready for Mass at 8:00am on Tuesday….. and beyond!
