Pastor Letter – Update from Fr. Jim – Emailed November 9, 2020

Dear Parishioners,

I left for a two-week vacation yesterday.  The first week I’m in Chardon, Ohio enjoying rest and the comfort of an Indian Summer for a few days!  I am fortunate to have a house in the woods that it is real quiet and scenic.  This brings me a place to finish my quarantine away from the Rectory.  Finally feeling a lot more of myself today, yet I will not overdo.  I do not want a relapse.

The following week I will be in Florida (after Tropical Storm Eta Is gone!) My twin brother is there now and it’s raining, raining, and raining!  I feel bad for him. What can you do?

Before I left on Sunday, I had opened up the church for an 8:00 am Mass on Sunday.  Because of COVID-19 we hadn’t had a Sunday 8:00 am Mass for a while. I thought it was time to bring it back, but, the attendance was VERY minimal, 20 at most.  Unfortunately, our good priest, Father McGovern, who agreed to celebrate that Mass, as I was away on vacation, woke up and forgot about it and never showed.

So, I am letting you know that IHM will not have a Sunday 8:00 am for the remainder of the month of November, 2020.  Basically because I feel the 8:00 am “regulars” are being attentive and safe at home, as evidenced in the small number of attendees.

Our schedule will be this:
Saturday 4:30 pm
Sunday 10:00 am LIVE STREAMED
Sunday 4:30 pm

Many blessings,
Father Jim
