Dear Parishioners,
Happy Easter!
“Be strong in the Lord and put on the armor of God!”
I continue to miss us being together in our church, but have had the delightful experiences of “picturing you” in our church, where you sit, kneel, and stand!! You know, everyone has their special seat and YOU continue to be in my mind’s imagination and heart!
I pray that this greeting finds you all well and with patient endurance during this most unprecedented time! AND, THIS TOO, SHALL PASS!
When I was in the major seminary, Saint Mary’s, I would spend time in the chapel and in front of the tabernacle and positioned above it was the large crucifix in white marble and above that was the inscription; “OBEDIENS USQUE AD MORTEM”, “obedient even unto death”! It was a phrase that spoke to me in all things, comforting me that if I was obedient, I would be taken care of during anything that comes my way. So, I continue to use that prayerful posture and phrase during this world pandemic. I entrust it to you in your homes and in all of your situations.
I look forward to that first public Mass that IHM parishioners, family, and friends will be able to come together in thanksgiving for faith and holy communion of which is the basis for all life. Until then, be strong in the Lord, and put on the armor of God!
Many blessings,
Father Jim
