Pastor Letter – Church Air Conditioning Update – Emailed September 23, 2022

Dear Parishioners,

CHURCH AIR CONDITIONING UPDATE

OLD PARTS AND LABOR DIFFICULTIES

In late August, the two church air conditioner units stopped working. Timing is everything and this was bad timing! We were fortunate to have emergency service to find out the problem. Old age and clogged coils were found to be the problem.

The discovery in late August was that ONE UNIT is totally “gone.” The other unit needed its coils to be cleaned and when that was done, that unit became “operable”! The church has AIR!!

These two units were installed in 1995. We have had them maintained and serviced on a regular basis. In the meantime, the HVAC company that we have used for several years, for lack of better words, “has taken a turn for the worse” because of their lack of getting technicians to work. It was politely said by them, that they regrettably can no longer service IHM’s air conditioning units because of that.

We are now interviewing different companies who can service our needs for HVAC. As you know this takes time, but we will get there!

In the future, there will be a need for new air conditioning units. These are twenty-five-ton units and are not that readily available. There is a waiting period of more than ninety days or more from making the order to receiving them. I have not investigated their costs yet, but you must know it will be quite costly.

All things in God’s time! Let’s hopefully get through the summer heat.

Many blessings,

Father Jim
