Pastor Letter – Church Cleaning Help – Emailed September 9, 2022

Dear Parishioners,

DUST AND COBWEBS IN THE CHURCH BUILDING

For the most part when you come into our church building it is free of dust and cobwebs! That is due to some very dedicated ladies every other week who spend an approximate hour or so taking care of these things! I am most grateful for this program that has been a part of IHM for several years; years before I even came here. It was part of the former Altar and Rosary Society.

As in many programs, volunteers, for one good reason or another, fade away. Sometimes it is sickness or injury, and so then to keep this program going, it becomes necessary to ask for others step in. Therefore, we are asking for volunteers for this program of keeping our worship space free from dust and cobwebs.

Once, every other week for about an hour, the team duties include:

  • straightening books in the racks
  • dusting pews
  • dusting around altar and shrine areas,
  • dusting windowsills and radiators
  • spot vacuuming the carpeting in between pews

Cleaning materials are provided and kept in the ushers’ closet.

As you know many hands make light the work. Please think about your availability to volunteer. When a team is formed, they find a mutually agreed upon time during their scheduled week to do this basic housekeeping for the church interior.

To volunteer, please reach out to Julie at jbowling@ihmcfo.org or call her at the office, (330) 929-8361, x10.

Many blessings,
Father Jim
