Pastor Letter – Deacon Joseph Menkhaus Introduction – Emailed May 5, 2021

Dear Parishioners,

I asked our new transitional deacon to share a little about himself. Please once again welcome Deacon Joseph Menkhaus, who will be arriving to Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish on May 17th!

Many blessings,
Father Jim

Hello Everyone! My name is Dc. Joe Menkhaus. I was ordained to the Transitional Diaconate April 17, 2021 in preparation for ordination to the Priesthood in May of 2022. I have been assigned to IHM for the next year or so and I am SO excited to get started! I have been praying for the parish daily ever since Bishop Malesic gave me my assignment.

I grew up in the Cleveland area and I am the oldest of 8 children, 4 boys and 4 girls. My parents raised us all Catholic, and most of my siblings are involved in some sort of ministry in the Church. One of our favorite mutual hobbies is music. We all play at least one instrument, and whenever we have family parties, we really enjoy spending time playing music together. I also love staying active. I played soccer and kicked for the football team in high school. Nowadays, I really enjoy biking and hiking, especially in the Cleveland Metroparks. I look forward to exploring the trails in the Akron area!

Please know of my prayers for everyone at IHM. May Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart lead, guide, and protect us all!
