Pastor Letter – Finance Council Update – Emailed April 22, 2022

Dear Parishioners,

Many thanks for your generosity over the past months for the people of Ukraine and the surrounding countries, providing them with $3,615.70. Likewise, I and our finance council thank you for this year’s, Easter collection that is most beneficial to us and our expenses.

As a reminder the finance council members are composed with people who are personally invited from me to assist me in making the best financial decisions for IHM. It is a consultative group and not a “board” as canon law of the church requires it that way.

Its members are men and women that are school parents, parents of alums of IHM School, and involved parishioners. Each member has a background in architecture, business management, business owner, accounting, real estate, property management, city management, and human resources.

Our diocese asks pastors to have the finance council meet at a minimum of eight or nine times a year to review the finances, the balance sheet, the income data, and the detailed analysis of spending according to the set budget. IHM is on a July to June fiscal year.

Finance council members serve a three-year term with staggered three-year periods so that it does not become all brand-new members every three years.
