Dear Parishioners,
The IHM Catholic Elementary School is off to a great start. Our enrollment is 302 students in grades K -8! There are also 20 Pre-K students.
We hired five new teachers due to teachers last school year needing to move out of town or have sought other professions.
The school principal is Mrs. Bibiana Seislove, a Stow resident and a member of Holy Family Catholic Parish.
Our classroom size is approximately 17 students and there are two classrooms per grade. Optimally we can increase classroom size, but small classroom size (no more than 20-22) is greatly appreciated by our school parents and the academic progress of each student.
We do have some teacher aides in Pre-K, Kindergarten, and First Grade. This is also attractive to our school parents and each child’s progress.
This school year we have become an EdChoice Scholarship school. The Educational Choice Scholarship (EdChoice) Program provides students from designated public schools the opportunity to attend participating private schools. The program also provides all current students attending IHM who are entering kindergarten through 8th grade these scholarship opportunities based on their parents’ household income level. Important to know,
This state money scholarship does not affect any curriculum offerings in our private catholic school.
Every student will benefit, no matter what their parents’ household income.
We are also a Jon Peterson Scholarship provider as well. The Jon Peterson Special Needs (JPSN) Scholarship Program provides scholarships to students who are eligible to attend kindergarten through 12th grade and have an Individualized Education Program (IEP) from their district. The amount of each scholarship will be based on the primary disability condition identified on the student’s Evaluation Team Report (ETR). Students must be enrolled in the scholarship program for the entire program year to receive the full scholarship amount.
Thank you all for the support you offer in many ways to assist IHM and its mission to educate students with a catholic education.
Many blessings,
Father Jim
