Pastor Letter – Net Profit from Car Raffle Fundraiser – Emailed January 6, 2021

Dear Parishioners,

CAR RAFFLE 2020 seems like sooooooo long ago, but, I wanted to take the opportunity in this New Year 2021 to thank everyone who contributed during the September, October, and November months to this very successful fundraiser for our catholic day school operations. You bought 3,467 tickets during those three months! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

This successful three-month car raffle will continue annually for now to help the annual day school operations. A parish with a school always needs to help defray the tuition costs by some kind of fundraising.

When we began the planning for this in late spring of 2020, the IHM car raffle 2020 committee suggested budgeting $50,000.00 for a net profit in 2020-2021. Well, that budgeted amount was SUPERCEDED by a little more than $17,000.00! How great is that?

Therefore, the NET PROFIT was actually: $67,214.80!!

This net profit is so terrific and so very helpful this year 2020-2021, especially because of COVID-19 and the difficulty for IHM to materialize any other typical kind of fundraising (IHM MUSTANG 5K) as we could not “gather” in public for those kinds of events.

The car raffle committee will meet again this winter to plan out CAR RAFFLE 2021 for the three months of September, October, and November, 2021.

Thank you one and all for loving IHM School and supporting us! Get ready to participate again in the late summer and fall 2021!

Many blessings,
Father Jim
