Dear Parishioners,

OCIA (formerly RCIA, Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) stands for Order of Christian Initiation of Adults. This ministry is taking place currently here at IHM with the guidance and leadership of our Pastoral Associate, Mary Ann Love.

Many times, throughout the year individuals call the rectory having been inspired with the desire to further the faith within them. Some who call have never been baptized and want to be. Others who call have been baptized but have not been fully initiated with the sacraments of Reconciliation, Eucharist, or Confirmation.

For each of them they have beautiful stories and reasons to seek out full initiation in our catholic faith. Currently thirteen individuals who are in the “inquiry stage” learning and discussing our Creed.

At the beginning of December at a 10:00am Mass, our parish will accept and welcome them for further exploration as to what our sacraments mean. That further exploration leads them to the Easter vigil and full reception into our catholic church.
