I am so grateful to you for continuing to remember that some school families paying catholic education school tuition have financial hardships. Thank you for making special contributions to THE MCINTYRE FUND for that purpose throughout this year. From your generosity that fund this year will offer $17,700.00 to 38 school children (2019-2020) representing 22 families. That is approximately 12% of our school families who need some financial assistance from the McIntyre Fund! Keep up the good work.

But there is more!

Some of these same students and other individual students received additional funding from different scholarships available to school children within the diocese. These monies totaled $28,300.00! This came from either the Diocesan Tuition Assistance Fund which was greatly supported by the past ROOTED IN FAITH diocesan campaign or The Bishop’s Scholarship for Excellence Fund, The Thomas Moore Family Scholarship Fund, and The School Employee Tuition Assistance Fund. There was also funding available from the Ohio Catholic Federal Credit Union from which some of our students received a scholarship.

The families who received financial assistance from BOTH the McIntyre Fund and any of the Diocesan funds are the families in our school with greater financial hardships as witnessed by their FACTS GRANT AND AID application. Therefore, total numbers of school families receiving any kind of financial assistance are 32 families and 51 students. This breaks down to 17% of school families who have received financial assistance for 2019-2020.

To be clear, this doesn’t mean that there would be no other additional families in our school with a financial need, but, there is only so much financial assistance each year to offer in any of these scholarships, and there has to be a cut-off at some point.

I do try to assist school families ALL THROUGHOUT the year who experience a sudden unplanned for reasonable need. So, thank you once again for funding The McIntyre Fund so generously.
