Pastor Letter – Weekday Mass Time Change – Emailed April 26, 2024

Dear Parishioners,

Wednesday, May 1st, 2024, there is going to be a daily Mass time change!

Wednesday’s DAILY MASS at 8:00am will now become a 5:00pm Mass. Beginning May 1st there will no longer be an 8:00am Mass!

Why? Father Ralph Thomas needs some sabbatical time off from daily and weekend sacramental ministry. Starting May 1st, he will continue to live at IHM Rectory and be free from daily Mass, weekend confession, and weekend Mass responsibilities. On the next page is a note from Father Ralph.

I made the choice to change the Wednesday Mass time as it was difficult to find a priest able to commit to that Wednesday morning Mass time. I typically take an overnight for my Tuesday day off and return to IHM around 10:00am.

PLEASE TAKE NOTE! Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will begin at 8:00am with an extraordinary minister of holy communion exposing the Blessed Sacrament at that time! Reposition of the Blessed Sacrament will remain at 5:00pm followed by the daily Mass. Mass Intentions that were scheduled for the Wednesday 8:00am Mass will be moved to the Wednesday 5:00pm Mass.

So, for your information, I will be responsible for Masses on Monday, (at 8:00am), Wednesday (at 5:00pm with reposition of the Blessed Sacrament beforehand) and Thursday (at 8:00am). Father Burkley will take Mass on Tuesdays at 8:00am and Father McCann will take Mass on Fridays at 8:00am.

I have always been told; “CHANGE IS DIFFICULT, BUT CHANGE IS GOOD!”

Many blessings,
Father Jim
