Pentecost Sunday ABC 2020

INTRO:

Tell story of the smashed in JAGUAR CAR DOOR.

A young executive was tooling down a street a bit too fast in his new shiny, sporty JAGUAR, but, when he got to an area where there were a number of parked cars he slowed down watching for kids darting out between the cars…when all of a sudden a BRICK smashed into his car side door!!!!

HE SLAMMED on his brakes got out to see the damage and look for who it was that threw the brick!!!

When he spotted the young boy…he began to yell……..
Why did you do that?
That’s going to cost you a lot of money to fix!
What’s wrong with you?

Kid was tearing up and mumbled….I am sorry Mister, but I didn’t know what else to do………..??
My brother rolled off the curb and fell out of his wheelchair….he’s too heavy and I cannot lift him!

Would you please help me get him up and back into the chair?

Stunned…he helped them and even took out a fancy handkerchief to wipe tears and some blood. When he saw that all was okay, he heard the young boy say,
MAY GOD BLESS YOU MISTER!

Too shook up for words he simply watched the boy push his wheel chair bound brother down the sidewalk….long SLOW walk back to the car….it had
NOTICEABLE DAMAGE,

But, the driver NEVER bothered to repair the dented side door!!!!

He kept the dent there to remind him of this message….

DON’T GO THROUGH LIFE SO FAST THAT YOU HAVE TO HAVE A BRICK THROWN AT YOU TO GET YOUR ATTENTION TO BE OF SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY.

THE HOLY SPIRIT IS INSPIRING US TO BECOME CHURCH…..AND WHAT IS CHURCH?
Looking out for your brothers and sisters;
THOSE YOU KNOW.

THOSE YOU DO NOT KNOW.
MAKING OTHERS COME FIRST.

“And when He had said this, He breathed on them and said, receive the Holy Spirit.”

IF WE TRULY BELIEVE THAT THE HOLY SPIRIT HAS BEEN BREATHED INTO US THEN, BY FAR,

BE AT PEACE WITH PEOPLE
BE THERE FOR OTHERS
THAT’S THE FIRST AND FOREMOST NEED AND the BEST WAY TO BE CHURCH.
