Saying “AMEN” with your mask ON! – Emailed July 24, 2020

Dear Parishioners,

SAYING “AMEN” WITH YOU MASK ON!

Sorry for being so straightforward, but, again, health professionals and the protocols from the CDC, Center for Disease Control, all agree that while in a public space (such as attending Mass) masks remain ON while speaking.

Therefore, the proper Holy Communion reception is to say AMEN to the Body of Christ with your mask ON! This controls the spreading of germs.

After you have received the Body of Christ, then step to the side to remove your mask.

CAUTION: The best way to remove a mask is by pulling it off by the ear loops. This way you yourself are not touching the more germ-filled face covering of the mask.

I was happy to hear that Summit County is now Level 2, having moved down from Level 3, but, we do not want to get too complacent with these protocols.

Many blessings,
Father Jim
