    Update on Father Ralph Thomas – Emailed July 9, 2020

      Dear Parishioners,

      In all this heat, last night’s deluge of rain here at IHM for about a half hour, was a welcomed relief for all our dried land and gardens!!! This is northeast Ohio and summertime, so, anything can be experienced in terms of weather! I hope all of you are well.

      This note is a brief update on Father Ralph Thomas. Last Wednesday morning, July 1st, Father had a successful hip replacement surgery at Saint Thomas Hospital. He was then sent on Friday to Regina Health Center for his rehab. He sounds GREAT and is doing all he can to follow doctor’s orders. His plan is to return to IHM when his rehab is completed, typically 28 days.

      At this point he is not exactly sure what kind of mobility he will immediately have when he returns to IHM, but, does assure me that he wants to assist at IHM with Masses, confessions, counseling, and nursing home visits as he did before his hip pain took him “off his feet”, if you will.

      Visiting him is not an option at Regina, due to COVID-19, but cards or notes are always appreciated.
