Pastor Letter – Christ on the Corner – Emailed April 14, 2022

Dear Parishioners,

Happy Easter to you! I am so pleased to be your Pastor celebrating my eleventh Easter with you! This is a GREAT HOLY DAY to keep in your minds that we have a GOD that loves us deeply and never leaves us alone. During wars and pandemics, the promise of heaven from Jesus’s resurrection does not remove the pains of this world, but it does give us hope, strength, and peace even in the darkest valleys.

“Even when I go through the darkest valley, I fear no danger, for you are with me; your rod and your staff—they comfort me.”

As we enter this spring season, “spring cleaning” always comes to my mind. Many of you get windows and screens cleaned, wash floors, clean basements, garages, and rake away leaves from your garden beds! I am aware that there are many folks who cannot get this done for themselves and that is ONE REASON “Christ on the Corner” (COTC) was begun here at IHM.

“Christ on the Corner” is putting our faith into ACTION helping others with “spring cleaning” and many other jobs. SAVE THE DATE of Saturday, May 21, 2022, beginning at 7:30am with a gathering prayer and breakfast, getting to the many sites that need YOU and YOUR FAMILY at 9:00am and working through the mid-afternoon ending at 3:00pm.

FAMILIES are so needed as well as individuals. We need at least two hundred individuals to get work done at all the sites.

MOST IMPORTANT is deciding about this sooner than later. It is a large task to honor your choice of work for this day when you sign up.

Register to put your good faith into action by being the hands and feet of Christ: https://ihmcotc2022.eventbrite.com/

Many blessings,

Father Jim
