Dear Parishioners,

After several bids were received, IHM selected The Geopfert Company to replace our two church air conditioning units, which one broke down last August leaving the second one “barely” operable. Those church air conditioning units were purchased and installed in 1995!

The scope of the work is to remove and dispose of the (2) existing 25-ton outdoor Condensing Units and indoor Air Handling Units. They are installing (2) new 25-ton Carrier outdoor condensing Units and indoor modular Air handling Units (R410A Refrigerant, dual refrigeration-circuit, cooling only). Included in this installation are all new copper refrigerant lines (suction lines insulated), replacing the outdoor fused electrical disconnects. They will also install (2) smoke detectors and replace the thermostats.

The “tender” price is $123,500.00!

IHM had budgeted for this expense. As you may or may not know, a capital expenditure of this magnitude is done with a diocesan contract to legally protect IHM. It is signed by the bishop as well as me.

Many blessings,
Father Jim
